4^th Aug. 2000 – The Details of The Arrest

10.25 a.m Divider on Jalan Tun Perak, in front of junction to Jalan Melayu. Police jostled a few people there, including Lokman, Tian Chua, Ezam and some PKN supporters. A crowd gathered there and police & FRU men, un-uniformed police pushed and loughed up a few people. Ezam then spoke to them. After this Lokman asked the crowd to “bersurai”.

10.30 a.m The same place as above. Three person ( Gopalakrishna, Monas Sufian and Munawar ) were arrested and taken away.

From Jalan Tun Perak, through Jalan Melayu, the crowd (around 100 to 200 people) moved to Jalan Masjid India.

10.40 a.m. The crowd gathered at one corner of Jalan Masjid India, while listening to Hishamudin Rais delivering a short speech.

10.45 a.m Later, Lokman Nor Adam read out a pamphlet on the “ Sinopsis Pembicaraan Kes Liwat Dato’ Seri Anwar”.

10.50 a.m Tian Chua delivered a short speech.

10.55 a.m A helicopter, was rounding over Jalan Melayyu, Jalan Masjid India and part of Jalan TAR and Jalan Tun Perak.

11.00 a.m The crowd were told to move to Semua House to get the pamphlets on the “ Sinopsis” read by Lokman Nor Adam, and they did moved there.

At the same time, at Jalan Tun Perak heading to the fountain, police tried to catch Tian Chua but were blocked by the people around.

11.15 a.m From Semua House, the crowd (around 100 people) moved to Pertama Kompleks and started to distribute the pamphlets along Jalan TAR, heading to Jalan Tun Perak again.

11.20 a.m Three people were being taken in truck which was held up by traffic at junction at the Dataran Merdeka ( Jalan Raja Laut junction). The three shouted slogans and many photographers ran to the truck. A plain-clothe police asked one of the photographers for his I/C. He grabbed his wallet and opened it. On seeing a PAS card, the policeman took the photographer away. Later he was let off.

11.40 a.m *At the junction of Jalan TAR and Jalan Tun Perak, ( near the fountain ) Lokman Nor Adam was arrested while distributing the “sinopsis” pamphlets.

*Just after the police arrested Lokman and put him into the police car, one of the police said “ sekarang boleh pergi makan dulu”. It seem they purposely want to catch him.

11.50 a.m Three lady ( Zainab Rahmah, Rahimah and Norazimah) were arrested by two police women while crosing the Jalan Tun Perak, from Jalan TAR, which at the same time distributing the “sinopsis” pamphlets.

1.15 p.m Friday Prayer

2.25 p.m After the prayer, people began to gather in front of Masjid Negara and started chanting.

2.45 p.m In front of Masjid Jamek, FRU, using the rattan, chased a crowd of people.

3.00 p.m Crowd dispersed at Masjid Negara.
